which one? the Under my hood gets terrible reviews...21% 1 star reviews with some saying they should be a 0 star review..Wix doesn't get great reviews either. those are the only two that come up on my amazon search. thanksGo with amazon oil testing kit.
Oil Analyzers is my go-to. If you're an Amsoil preferred customer (only $20/year) you can buy kits with UPS prepaid shipping for a little over $35 ea. including tax and free shipping. I just bought 3 kits for $106.60 shipped. I actually don't even buy Amsoil oil, I just became a preferred member to save money on the oil analysis kits. I typically buy 8-10 kits per year, so the $20 membership fee is worth it to me.Go with amazon oil testing kit.
Fixed it for you.OAI (Horizon) is good and has been like 7 days for me the last two times, but the web portal ishilariouslyfrustratingly bad.
I think a consumer v commercial interface would be a great ideaFixed it for you.
I think of the Horizon website as an "expert" system. That is to say, it requires training and/or knowledge, and frequent use, to be usable. There is nothing intuitive about it.I think a consumer v commercial interface would be a great idea
Usually that only happens to me in surgeryso blackstone apparently got my results mixed up with someone else's results...I called and they said some how someone else's account ended up with my results...when I clicked on the sample number which was came up as completed but it would not let me open the results up would simply say access denied.....so I called and they were like yea that sample is not associated with your account...If I had not called I never would have probably received my analysis and someone is probably like wow these numbers are not the same as my previous ones.......I clearly had my account number marked on the bottle in a couple places with a sharpie so makes you wonder how often that might happen....
WIX and NAPA and probably others use ALS Global. I have been using them for many years. Their UOA reports seem to include everything I need. ALS Global is a worldwide company that covers a lot more than oil analysis.which one? the Under my hood gets terrible reviews...21% 1 star reviews with some saying they should be a 0 star review..Wix doesn't get great reviews either. those are the only two that come up on my amazon search. thanks
Because it's what I've always used I guess. I have plenty of kits. My Liquimoly overlords command me to.Why to people still use Blackstone?
Sorry to be harsh, but you’ve been warned about a dozen times on here that Blackstone is literally a crapshoot at best. You’d probably have more reliable results just calling Miss Cleo. And yes I’m aware she’s been dead for nearly a decade.so blackstone apparently got my results mixed up with someone else's results...I called and they said some how someone else's account ended up with my results...when I clicked on the sample number which was came up as completed but it would not let me open the results up would simply say access denied.....so I called and they were like yea that sample is not associated with your account...If I had not called I never would have probably received my analysis and someone is probably like wow these numbers are not the same as my previous ones.......I clearly had my account number marked on the bottle in a couple places with a sharpie so makes you wonder how often that might happen....
What's the price at Blackstone UOA with TBN? I assume you pay the postage to mail it in.Because it's what I've always used I guess. I have plenty of kits. My Liquimoly overlords command me to.
No TBN normally. No postage...the kits are pre-paid. The only concern is the fuel% isn’t tested directly. What's the price at Blackstone UOA with TBN? I assume you pay the postage to mail it in.
Some of the individuals tests at Blackstone are not done using the best test methods.
On diesel engines with regen fuel dillution is pretty much mandatory. And direct injection gas engines. No TBN normally. No postage...the.kits are pre-paid. The only concern is the fuel% isn’t tested directly.
I'm primarily concerned with wear metal rates and viscosity. I know i have some fuel...it's not likely enough to matter here. If that is a major concern then yes a direct test is a good idea.On diesel engines with regen fuel dillution is pretty much mandatory. And direct injection gas engines.
