BG MOA

Redline Breakin additive had a VOA done and I remember the numbers:
Zn 20500
P 17000
Ca 20000

That would give it a TBN of about 67

So if the calcium is in detergents then the RL additive has about twice as much detergency per unit volume (it comes in a 5W30 base, 16 oz bottle).

Interesting comments about detergency. They don't market it for detergency............

there is not enough in bg moa to raise anything in the oil!! several uoa using moa and showed no effect at all not even the detergent.... red line breakin oil additive and for moly lubegard bio engine prot. and lat liquid frict reducer.these are the only additives i use and it covers it all...and again moa goes top of todays newer oils just doesn't mix well.

Just saw something weird yesterday. I had to take in the G37 for a TSB issue. I saw what they charge for an oil change (like $70, and I doubt that's even synthetic). Anyhow, they advertise that they do BG MOA with all their oil changes. I don't know how that jives with the manuals stating not to use additives.

Yesterday, too, I was at a Ford dealership. They had all kinds of BG products, including MOA, and various non-API BG oils.

I do not mind. It should be there but will probably be buried down since it was from 2 years ago.

Michael, I find that MOA gives oil a beautiful red color, and it is great for making borscht.

Seriously, I sell BG Products at our shop, and we've sold MOA. Not a lot of it.

I do have a customer who had what sounded like a lifter tick, and after adding MOA, the tick eventually (over the next 1,000 miles) went away. I can't really attribute this to the MOA, but it was in the crankcase when the noise ceased.

My mpg has gone up slightly since I have put it in. Never tried it until now, I get a discount on the stuff since I work @ a dealership.

if one looks at the voa of this additive there is very little in it to make any difference in your engine...bg are awsome products but not this additive..with todays oils this additive does not mix well and stays on the surface

I have used MOA for many years. The stealer recommended it. I do note that when I change my oil the MOA is the last to exit. MOA exits faster than the oi. You can hear the difference. Literally.

Hadn't thought about it, until you suggested it remains at the top. Won't be using this with M1.

i cant say about GB products. they are made my town of Wichita,ks, for a LONG time. and i know a LOT of car guys, and i have NEVER heard any thing bad about BG
