I just came across a local store that had some SL1 tucked away in the corner collecting dust (picked up two bottles for 5 bucks a pop) and was wondering what ratio you guys recommend?

It's going in my summer vehicle that i've never has FI cleaner in and it gets driven on rare occasions. The back says that the bottle will treat 20 gallons, but for ordinary maintenenace or upkeep, it has a much lower dosage.

Based on how I use the vehicle, how much of this stuff should I throw in the tank? I also have a brand new car that I'd like to put SL1 in use with.....same ratio as the summer car or a lil less?

New car probably doesn't need it yet. The T/A probably doesn't care...I really wouldn't over-think this one...If you're using decent quality gasoline, there is much less need for fuel system cleaners than there used to be...

I put a can of Techron in the gas tank (at every oil change) to keep it clean. Just put a can in at the next fill-up on the T/A and drive it...keep the other can for the first oil change on the Altima...

I've been using SI-1 for the past several years at the 1 ounce/10 gallon ratio that I believe they recommend anyway. I did it since new on one vehicle and started doing it on a used vehicle I purchased. Great product with lots of PEA in it!

The maintenance dose is 1.5 ounces/10 gallons of gas, at least that's what Dave at RL told me. Great product, great price you paid for it.

I also bought approx 20 bottles when AAP had it on clearance.

I use RaceTrac or 7-11 gas and dump an entire bottle Redline once a year to my cars.

Yeah I kind of regret not picking up any more! I may simply dump the whole bottle of this stuff in the T/A as I'll be driving the car only for one month and than it will sit for a year.

According to Redline, SI-1 can be used on a continual basis at the treat rate of 1/3oz to 1/6oz per gallon.

1/3 = 1oz/3gal = 6oz/20gal
1/4 = 1oz/4gal = 5oz/20gal
1/5 = 1oz/5gal = 4oz/20gal
1/6 = 1oz/6gal = 3oz/20gal

Not sure why they have varied amounts, I have used the 1/4 = 1oz/4gal = 5oz/20gal as a maintenance dose, gives me 3 tankfulls per bottle, car ran great.

I have used Techron, Regane, Redline and MMO. The first 3 seem to work equally well as a single use full strength clean up, I have only used Redline and MMO as a maintenance additive, I feel the advantage goes to Redline, it gives PEA cleaning and UCL.

The old bottles were marked in 10 gallon treatment doses. I think each is maybe an ounce.

I always figure that less is more with adds. Id run 1oz to 10 gal.

I was going to dump the whole bottle in a tank full of fuel and just drive the car till it's time for an OC at the end of this month.

*Would the above method be effective?*

1 ounce per 10 gallons is about 0.1% by volume. How can there be a discernible difference between 99.9% and 100% gasoline? I would really like to know, not being funny or anything, that 0.1% is apparently very powerful int he way it makes engines run better...

I thought you could just pour the whole bottle into the tank, at least thats what I did in my 20gallon tank. of course im referring to a one-time-clean ..not a "routine"

+1.....all three work equally well.....and a maintainance combination.... of MMO and Redline Sl-1 every fill-up....works great for me.

3oz. of MMO...and 1.5oz of Redline Sl-1
