Best place to buy new Oxygen sensors??

I just go to any parts store and get a universal oxygen sensor. It cost less than the ones that come with the connector for your car. You just need to do some wire splicing and use the original connector. Just make sure it has the correct number of wires.

to BITOG!

You might want to see what RockAuto (www.rockauto.com) has to offer. The prices are good, the shipping reasonable, and the parts catalog is very easy to use and usually comprehensive. Look in the rebates, etc. section of this forum for the latest 5% off code. Hope this helps in your search.

you can try sparkplug.com too. I just bought OEM densos for my Tundra. Good prices. You might want to invest in an o2 wrench as well. With the way those sensors heat cycle they practically weld themselves into the exhaust.

If you have not done this already, try the dealer. May sound stupid but once in a great while they are cheaper than parts stores and its a gauranteed fit.

sparkplugs.com and oxygensensors.com carry good brands and prices. I'll second the Denso recommendation. Of course check rockauto too, and see which has cheapest total with S/H.

I couldn't agree more. I've had great experiences with both mail-order sources and prefer Denso spark plugs and O2 sensors if avail. The only time I had difficulty with an aftermarket O2 sensor was on a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L. That specific year/chassis used a funky connector that I couldn't match up with anything. Wound-up mail-ordering an OEM denso from a dealership for $125 which was half what my local Isuzu dealer wanted.

If you are willing to go non plug-n-play where you cut/splice or use a sealed crimp connector like Bosch uses, they sky is the limit for O2's.

I've always thought that unneccesary wire splicing is just an invitation for trouble/hassle. Most O2 sensors that I've messed with use some sort of heat-resistant wire that's impossible to solder... so crimp splices are probably your only option. Butt splices with sealing shrink-wrap are available and would probably work fine.

I always just pay a few dollars more for an 02 sensor with the right connector, though. I've always gone with the local discount autoparts store- whatever brand is cheapest. They seem to work fine. I changed the O2 sensor in my '01 Lumina at about 160k a few months back, and it increased my gas mileage significantly (had been getting 25 hwy for the past year or more... went up to 29 on the last two trips).

I always put antisieze on them- you'll congradulate yourself on your foresight next time you have to remove the sensor. Also, Autozone has 02 sensor sockets available with their tool loaner program... it beats paying $30 for a tool that you'll likely only use once.

autopartswarehouse.com had the best price for an O2 sensor for my wifes Lexus and it was an OEM Denso. $126.99 and no shipping charge.
