The simple answer would have to be yes. If both were the same formulation then there would not be a liquid and a paste version of the same wax.

But I understand most of the time in non carnauba waxe type products, the difference is in an inert carrier.

I've heard in carnauba waxes the difference is more pronounced because it is more difficult to convert carnauba to a liquid form and therefore paste carnauba waxes can generally have more carnauba than a liquid version.

what dont you like about liquid glass, if you dont mind me asking.

I guess I'm too spoiled on top tier products to care for the product. I didn't say it was junk, I just said I didn't care for it, and was trying not to make those who are using it think I was running down their favorite product or being an elitist. I thought I signalling I didn't care to argue about it. But, maybe that isn't the way it reads.

Use what ever you want. Don't take my or anyone's word that something is good or not. Just because ten people like it out of twenty posts doesn't make it good either. Try it out and see for yourself. Experience it's personality quirks; like, does it stain trim? Hard to use? Does it last? How about clarity and depth? etc. etc. It's not unheard of for one person to get great results and others not. Climate, washing habits, car color, application/removal methods, and on and on. I don't use #20, #6, Mothers, or NXT anymore either, but they are very decent OTC products for the average guy. Use what you have, can get and like. I'll list my favorite waxes or sealants and if anyone wants to trash them, it's no skin off that same nose.

Carnauba Moose Wax and sometimes Poorboy's Polish with Carnauba...occasionally #26 Liquid on a basket-case friend's car.
#16
Natty's Wax
EX
EX-P
Optimum Spray Wax
FMJ
All the Pinnacle paste wax line

These are too many for my own good and there is "no room" on my shelf for even other first rate products. Why would I want to keep using second shelf stuff while I have "better" stuff I can hardly use up fast enough?

Hope this answers your question. I know, I still didn't tell you what I DON'T like about it...or did I?

i put on a coat of liquid glass, and so far i like it. my question is, is it hard for others to tell where its being applied? im not sure if i used too little, because after the first few strokes, i couldnt see it being applied anymore. i also used a microfiber cloth to apply it, which i think might have absorbed it too much. any ideas?

Try Mother's Reflections as it is some sort of synthetic. Also consider their top coat as it can be layered. The top coal adds to the depth a bit. Looks great on my Oxford Green 95 BMW 525i.

I have had trouble finding it OTC. Many stores sell Mother's syn-wax as the price point is a bit lower. Many state both products look about the same.

Did it haze after a few minutes? I've always applied it with a foam pad.

I like NuFinish in the paste can. Medium effort to put on and take off but, lasts about 12 months here in FL. with overnight inside parking. Does not give a concors shine but it does last and looks good months after appling. I may give liquid glass the old comparision try by appling NuFinish on one fender and liquid glass to the oposit side. Will post back in about 6 months or earler if one goes south.

I also like NuFinish. I use it once during the summer, then once again in Septemeber or October and it lasts until next summer. My Cherokee is 9 years old and the pain still looks very good.

I'm partial to FX Synwax, mostly because its so effortless to apply and remove. TWPUG is nice, but a little harder to remove.
I used to use NuFinish, and these two new waxes seem to hold up just as well here in PA.
I was considering NXT for a while, but I've read so much that it doesn't last very long. That combined with its price...

I tryed NXT, didnt think it was all that.
However the M21 and the older M20 appear to be doing the best job of protecting I've seen yet!

I just bought some Mothers FX today, hopefully it's warm enough this weekend to apply it. Advance Auto had on sale for $9 and change.
