Quote:
Said to have been named after the celebrated World War II fighter plane, but publicly marketed with equine overtones, the Mustang name has evoked thoughts of freedom and the open road for generations of drivers. Names like Boss, Cobra and Shelby have signified some even higher-performing ‘Stangs along the way; yet even on its own, Mustang is all that’s really mattered. The original pony car is still arguably the best, as is its name.

Mopar always had the best names, and I hate that they left so many off the list. Challenger, Charger, Fury, Demon, Barracuda, Roadrunner, Superbee, Daytona, Commando, Dart- heck, that's a whole new top ten list right there.

My favorite model name is still the Rolls Silver Phantom.

The Nova was called the Constellation South of the border. Naming a car essentially No-Go in Spanish means it probably wouldn't sell to good.

Definitely. Interestingly enough, "Pajero" (pronounced "Pa-jiro) is named after a South American feline (a lynx) found in the mountains of Argentina (Oncifelis Colocolo Pajeros or Felis Pajeros). In the UK, it's named "Shogun", after a Japanese Warrior. In other markets, it's named "Montero" as in "Mountain Warrior".

For those who speak Spanish, I take "wanker" it is pronounced "pa-hero"?
