Best buy in firearms?

Yeah, the Maverick is a really good deal. Probably the best "bang" for your buck, period. Not necessarily a pretty gun, but it sure enough gets the job done. I've got prettier and more expensive guns, but it's my Maverick 88 that sits propped up next to the bed.

Ruger SR40C (C for compact). This 9 round, very concealable handgun also comes with the 17 round magazine and pinky, magazine filler to make the compact into the full size SR40 capable of shooting the 40 S&W. Have your concealable carry and a full capacity nightstand gun. All for around $375-$400.

I have a combo in .357 magnum. A Marlin 1894C and a Ruger GP-100. Under $1,000 MSRP, and will shoot .38 special as well. Good for plinking, pest control, self defense, and hunting up to black bear.

It use to be a Saiga, but the prices have just gotten stupid on them. There was a time you could get a Saiga 12 for around $300. I bought one new as prices were going up at $375.

Love my Ruger P-90 45ACP as well.

Academy Sports sells the Maverick 88 "hunting version" for ~$170-$180. 28" barrel, 6-shot capacity, blue steel, black synthetic stock. Easliy accepts a Mossberg 500 or Maverick 18 1/2" barrel for house duty- or just use it as is.

If I could own only one gun, it would be a 12-ga pump. If all my guns were destroyed or stolen tomorrow, I'd check local pawnshops for a good used Rem 870 or Mossberg or Maverick. If no success there, I'd make a beeline for Academy & get a Maverick.

I currently own a Maverick 88 Mariner, 20" bbl, 8 shot capacity. There's nothing wrong with a Maverick.

Best buy in todays market of firearms! Thats easy!
Mosin-Nagant $70-$100
Hi-Point handguns $130-$180
Kel-Tec pistols $200-$280
Mossberg 702 .22 $100-$120
CZ-82&Makarov $200-$250

Those are some pretty cheap effective firearms!

I think the Sig SP2022 is a good buy. They go for about $399 with Sig lites in either 9 or 40 at the local Academy Sports. For a metal gun, the Stoeger Cougar is also $399 in 9 or 40.

I've got a M44 and 91/30. The M44 is not accurate, at 100 yards, it won't be on the large paper target after a few rounds. Bayonet out or in, matters not.

My 91/30, with aftermarket synthetic camo stock, is accurate and shoots tight groups at 100 yards. In fact, it's good enough to warrant spending some money on a scope and mount.

Both are fun to shoot and reliable.

This maybe used to be true. Now AK's are overpriced in the USA.

+1

I just looked at a Romanian WASR-10 AK-47 at the gun shop a couple days ago, had all the issues you are supposed to look for i.e. canted sight, mag wobble, sticky bolt etc.. they wanted $599.

If your M44 cant hit a target at 100yds it may be the sights are junk. They didnt make any of these rifles with good sights and the front sight post was often not high enough. I have 0 problems hitting targets at long ranges with my M38 and M44. And on the topic of the AK being overpriced thasts kind of a toss up. Sure the WASR-10 has jumped but you can buy a Polish one thats really high quality for the same price. I seem them at $600 new everyday at my favorite shop. For what you get out of an AK, $600 is pennies.
