Exactly ... if the filter is junk, that "clean fresh oil" will not stay that way for long.

Puralator P1 or Napa Gold, I'm actually partial to the Napa offering. I consider the Fram Ultra to be a fine filter, but don't really trust their lesser filters, I've used Orange cans in the past without issue, but frankly after reading the info on this forum, I decided that perhaps I was lucky. Why chance it? Same goes for puralator classic or driveworks, very inexpensive indeed, but for a couple of bucks more you could get a P1 or NAPA Gold, filters are cheap, engines are not.
