I have been looking for Baldwins around my way (NY) for a while and few guys quoted a b50 from $10 - $14. I found the below site and seems to be reasonable.
I ordered 2x B2($3.47ea) and 1x B50($4.03ea) for $17 shipped to my house. The service is very good and the rep very nice. Just putting it up.

If you can get them cheaper please let me know.

I bought five Baldwin B2's and the first two I used were bad news in my Caravan 2.5. I kept getting ticking sounds in the engine - sounding like bad lifters until the temperature needle moved (thermostat opened). Then the sound deadened.

When I purchased them, I thought I struck gold too. Huge filter with a good name - for such a cheap price. Instead I chucked all five in the garbage can & called it a mistake on my part. I'll never buy Baldwin again. Hope you have better success. Just keep your ear open for a few minutes after starting the engine.

Wow sorry to hear that. They are reviewed as such good filters both in perfomance and construction.

Don't scare me now...lol Thanks for the info.

I am a sound stickler..I listen to everything and would stop in a sec and pop the hood for little reasons. It drives my wife crazy. Saved my friends van being like that. I made him stop and turns out he engine was devoid of oil. Lifters were thirsty..

You should try us for the WIX/NG filters. The B50 (our number 51050) is $3.19, and the B2 ( our number 51515) is $2.68. It is a great filter too. Thought I would through that out there.

yes thanks I was reading up and found your link eariler. The contruction looks almost identical to the Baldwin. Those are good prices. Thanks for the cross refrenece. I hear good things from here about the Wix/NG.

What do you have same as the 51515 in size and tread with maybe a higher bypass pressure bypass valve? or is the 11lbs ok for tranny filter?

Called around my way to check prices on the Wix filters since quite a few places were selling them around me, $8 for the 51050 and $9 for the 51515. I was surprised of the prices. I was thinking maybe $5 or $6 at the most. The Baldwin B50 one guy wanted $14 for.

I purchased around 10-12 assorted filters from fleetfilter.com about the same time I bought those Baldwins. The differences are quite noticeable. The NAPA is a better filter period.

Now I need to get over my differences with NAPA the parts company over their filter rebate program. Then afterwards, I'll certainly give fleetfilter.com another order for a dozen or-so.

My next set of filters will be from fleetfilter.com.

Yes your right I looked at the filters againd and seems they are superior to the Baldwins. Both do have very good construction.

I have had no ill effects with the Baldwins so far, but with further reading I might just Ebay them and order from fleetfilter.com its only like $1 more for same.

Nothing wrong with the B2's from Baldwin. They are a very well contructed filter and still use them on various 4.0L Jeep engines with great success. Some of Baldwin's other applications are "short tubed" and I find this a bad decision on engineering working there.I've had customers refuse installation of certain Baldwin filters after they looked inside the filter and the center tube was floating against the media. The Napa Gold is another great filter that I use also and have yet to find anything wrong with the Wix (Napa Gold)after I cut them open.

Wow... I am surprised to hear that.

I definately have to say so far no issues, but I just got into the bypass filtration game and learning about the different qualities and contruction of filters.
I was a Fram guy since I bought my first car when I was 19 (34 now).Have to say I have never had a issue with Fram ( and I see now how they are constructed and read the problems people have had).

This is a great site...
I am part of a truck forum and I tried to find information on bypass filtration and filters there, stumbling on this site was like day from night

One of the Baldwins that I've used quite a bit is the B2 and(FL-1A equilavent) and B2 HPG. Seem like like perfectly good construction to me. I'd say the same about the Wix/Napa Gold that I've used alot of too. Never any "noise" issues but I'm not one to actively listen for noises either soo...
The short center tube issue is news to me. Do you know what model it was??? In any event if the media is durable the shorter tube may not be any issue.

11lbs probably will be fine. I don't beleive the transmission will have that much pressure.

Thanks to all you guys. I really appreciate all the information yall give me, and all the orders yall send my way. Keep it up

I'm liking the Wix...great information on this site...!

You have to hand it to Wix.When it comes to their web site they give out information and treat the consumer with the idea that he/she can make a buying decision based on info instead of flashy slogans.
