Awesome post Familyguy, honest no [censored] testimony, no agenda. When I see this kind of testimony, it peaks my interest in a product. Compression results, tests, photos, that's something the average back yard mechanic isn't going to do. They can be faked and doctored up too. But when I see comments like Familyguy's I believe them.

I'm sure at some point we will see pictures.

Yes. Long heralded and essential tools in opinion formation.

I salute you!

Back at ya. Beats some paid for testimony, fake tests, doctored pictures, and a slew of ad tricks many companies used over the years.

Reading these boards you get to sort of know people, seems like Familyguy is a straight shooter and someone I'd believe over the other [censored] on the www. or this board for that matter. JMO

Yeah, I'll go with the fish scale thing (Duralube) the (what's that thing with the bathed wheel and the weighted arm?) ? test ..the empty crackcase test ..the throw mud in it test. Z-Max infomercial type stuff. All of those things (Tornado is in there) were products of realizing that people made too much money and that people buying them were Nature's way of proving it.

I'll also agree that you learn to trust recurring individuals ..especially if their feelings conform to your own. Totally natural thing.

3) Seafoam
4) MMO

I'm glad there is a common thread for all the "buy anything but arx" crowd. To the OP: i used it to quiet a ticking lifter in a 180K ford 300in.

For me, I can buy something locally that's inexpensive and has always worked for me....

OR

I could roll the dice on something that some people say works and others say they didn't notice any change. And then there's the conflicting recommendations about exactly how to use the product and the often lengthy time frame before any results are seen. And then there's the price delta of nearly 10X for a small bottle of ARX and it must be ordered online.

There are lots of ways to skin this cat. I'll stick with what I know works.

Best,

+1 I'm with you!

Same here for MMO, only now probably close to 40 years for my family. Yikes my dad is getting old. :)

As I said, there is more than one way to skin this cat. If some people are more comfy with a much more expensive solution for the same problem, then I say we should celebrate the diversity. I'll use the money saved for the occasional bottle of Grange. :)

+1 I've been buying Blue Moon with mine, and have some cash left over.

You are recommending three products that you have never even used, and saying they work better than Auto RX?

There is no hype. The hype is created by the users, some like it. A lot don't like it and the people who does not like it, most of them are not users.

My suggestion is to evaluate it yourself. You can go to auto-rx website yourself, check out their forum. There are actual users or potential users (such as yourself) that ask questions and post answers based on their experience.

In my case, it works. I have used it in my own Camry and Suburban diesel. I have recommended to other people and they actually used it: my dad who owns another Suburban diesel, my friend who owns 2 Camry, 1 Lexus and 1 Rav-4, my friend who owns an Accord, etc. All of them have been satisfied.

Have I opened my valve cover, heck no. I don't have time to do those that is why I used Auto-RX. Don't have time to go to mechanics too much.

So, that is my story and I am sticking to it.
