Auto Rx Rinse Phase suggestions

I have gone 1500 miles on my Integra and now I am ready for the rinse phase.

When I started with the ARX I put in Fresh Mobil 5000 10/30 and a new Napa Gold Filter.

Now for the rinse phase I am going to use a new Gold filter and I need to choose a 10/30 weight oil.

I'm looking at these oils at walmart

Mobil 5000 (again. first time using it and worked fine for 1500 miles. I usually run Max Life)

GTX

Valvoline

Havoline

Super Tech

For .99 a quart the Super Tech is tempting but I'm not sure I want to put that in there. I will be going on a long trip for the rinse phase. I don't mind spending extra money on oil I will dump in 2k.

Suggestions? What works best for the clean phase?

Any reason why? I have run GTX in the car before at 3K changes with no problems.

After the Super Tech the Havoline is by far the cheapest at Wal Mart right now. I've never run that oil in my car before.

All of those are fine. The concern about Castrol GTX was misplaced...it does not contain esters. The Chevron Havoline is excellent. Use that. (Yep, Havoline is a Chevron product.)

Supertech.

It's only 2000 miles. It's cheap. It's SM/GF-4 so it's not going to kill your motor.

The amount of good the auto-rx is going to do is going to FAR outweigh using a "cheap" oil.

I used the ST synthetic for my cleaning phases because I was doing 3000+ mile trips on that oil and was very pleased with my UOA.

For a few pennies more go with the Havoline and stay with the Havoline great base stock and additive package.Look at the voa, its really a well built lubricant.

Are there any problems with running the Mobil Clean 5000. I seem to remember a post on here somewhere how that might not be a great choice for the rinse phase? But I can't find the post anymore.

I'm definitely interested to hear, as well, as I'm 350 miles into my ARX clean phase and Mobil 5000 was specically recommended to me by another BITOG member.

Good idea unless you want to rinse off "crud'from metal.Think it is always best to follw application instructions found on www.auto-rx.com.

Went back and thought i had clarified this? why not a good rinse oil? same as above.

What difference does it make if you use any non synthetic oil for rinse ? it is just for 2000 miles. Go Dark Dan

Frank I think I understand the application instructions. But is there a list of oils you recommend for the rinse phase on your site? If so I can't find it. I'm glad I didn't put Mobil 5000 in there for the rinse phase. I'm going to give it about 100 more miles and then I guess I'll put Havoline in there.

I just started an ARX treatment with Mobil Drive Clean.Is this bad? Should I change anything?
I can use Citgo Superguard for rinse.
And what about maintenance dose in long oci with synthetics?Two different engines.

Frank, might this be a situation similar with GTX? From Mobil 5000 FAQ, it seems that 5000 is non-syn, 7500 syn?

RichR, as I recall, the older formulation Mobil Drive Clean was dino while the Mobil Drive Clean Plus was a syn-blend, so Drive Clean should be okay as a rinse oil while Drive Clean Plus would not.
