Alright started the first cycle (cleaning phase) And since put about 1500 Km on it. Last week I added 300 mL of oil to top it off. Driving another 600 Km this week I had to add 500 ml + 3 oz of auto-rx to just bearly top off my oil.

I swear I've never had this much consuming problems before auto-rx.

Anyone have any recommendations. I think i've gone from medium oil burning/consuming to heavy consumption.

By the end of this week I'll tack on another 600 km atlest putting me 400km from 1500 mile target

I think I'd keep filling the crank with your recommended oil until you finish all your phases, and then if it continues go up a grade and use synthetic. Did the oil get dark faster than usual with ARX?

oil actually is not getting dark yet.

And I matching the correct ratio of auto-rx. Oil is still yellowish not black.

usually I find castrol gtx doesn't get black until 2400-3000 KM of it being in the crankcase.

Burning oil promotes combustion chamber (including rings) ash deposits and increased blow-by so it something you want to reduce, especially when using a product for the purpose of cleaning your engine. It's summer so top off with thicker oil as I said before.

Yeah, If the Autorx had anything to do with your car using oil you'd expect to see the oil black because of what Jag just said. Now that your saying the oil hasn't darkened I'd go with Jags recomendation.

My guess is the rings started getting cleaned and while they are in the partially clean condition, they aren't sealing as well as they did when they were filthier but in a "seated in" condition. If I'm right, they will keep getting cleaner and re-seating and eventually, the ring sealing and oil consumption will improve along with other improvements.

Jag your absoulutely correct this is a dirty engine. As has been said many times you need to get through rinse part of application so carbon etc can be driven to the filter. I would think this is a 2 bottle application (engine over 100,000 miles)hope IDS 748 will revisit application-FAQ.

I know to do the 2 bottle treatment thats what i will do. I purchased 3 bottles at once.

BUt question to you guys now is for the rinsing phase can i switch from the current 5w30 castrol gtx and move to a 10w30 castrol gtx just to keep my mind cool from all this consuming?

Or stick to 5w30 for rinsing and top off with 10w30.

With a very dirty engine your filter can be overwhelmed and go into bypass mode. This will make you burn more oil. You need to change the filter in between OCIs during cleaning and esp rinse phase. I had to with the Prizm.
Filters were very heavy with crud!!! Check you oil often!!!

OP, I know you do as I do check the oil. I am talking every fill up check it during the ARX regimen. You may want to change the filter NOW with an ST filter and do so again once between OCs. Also see if there is an oversize filter for you application. No sense using a really good filter for only 1000 miles or less. This is an accepted practice with ARX. Do a search if you doubt.

By changing the filter a lot of "crud' plus contaminanted oil will come out(thats why you keep topping off) Here is an idea instead of posting why not print out the application and follow it?

Yes you top off when you change the filter. If you don't change the filter, you burn more oil. Anyway you slice it you add but at least you get fresh media in there to catch more crud.

Ok frank I did read the basic instructions under the thing and did read the FAQ.

Please point to me where it says to change the FILTER and FILTER only in between the cleaning and rinsing phase. I will take your advice and do it today but nowhere did i read it. PLease point it out I want to know where I skipped it.

I'm not trying to be rude but I did do a lot of reading and have not come about the situation I have.

i DON'T KNow i'm confused after posting this thready.

All i know is at my last oil chance. I changed oil and filter and added the auto-rx amount for my car. And now being told to change my oil filter at 932miles now i've added liek 150 miles to that 932.
