They're oil is XPS synthetic blend oil. Just says summer blend down to -10 , so year round. Would not Mobil 1 or a similar oil work in this ATV??
That is not only illegal, it is also unethical as well.
Like the law (forget the name) if that is the case, then the dealer/manu has to supply the oil/filters free of charge.
I had quite the debate/thread at ty4stroke sometime ago and it's surprising the amount of people who buy into this! I did my first oil change using Yamalube and a filter and it cost me over $90 @#$% dollars! The second one, I went with Mobil-1 0W-40 and a Hi-Flo filter for less than $40.00.
Needless to see, Yamaha lowered their prices somewhat (I am not taking credit for that) but now I see a different angle Yamaha are now trying.
They say, purchase/use their oil/filter, and they will guarantee for life, due to an
engine oil related failure, your engine for life.
I'm curious, who actually gets to determine if the engine failure was oil related or not?
