Ok, I hope this topic hasn't been discussed already because I did a search and couldn't find anything.

Alright, started my initial ARX treatment in wifes car and it has about 600 miles left on it.
Wife is now taking a trip to SC and will hit the 600 mile point while she is there, making the car due for its rinse phase.

Now, the car has been seeing way too many short trips during the ARX cleaning phase for my liking. I would say 80% of the miles put on the car have been short trips of less than 15 miles or so.
I know ARX likes a good workout, so my question is this.
Should I wait until she gets home to drain and do the rinse phase? This will put her about 300 to 500 miles overdue.
Or, should I have her hit the Iffy Lube of choice in SC when the car hits 1500 miles?

As of this day, the car has 900 miles on the ARX initial cleaning cycle. Checking the dipstick, the oil is just barely starting to turn colors. Its not black and its not the new oil color. Its more like an inbetween.

Any advice appreciated.

Let it ride if you are concerned about the oil change place. Many people have gone over and I don't think that Frank has said anything bad, nor has anyone seen anything bad happen.

I'm thinking along those same lines Shaman.
I'm going to give her a real good lesson in checking the oil level and supply her with 2 quarts of oil for the trip.
So far, I haven't seen a drop of useage out a her car that usually uses 2 quarts in 5K miles.

Make sure the oil is at the full mark on the dipstick before she leaves and just change the oil when she gets back home. It wont hurt a thing to go over on miles and the prolonged high speeds/temps may actually help the autorx work "better".

Consider yourself lucky that you are putting on those miles making the wait not as long.

Run the extra 300-500 miles & don't worry, it'll be fine. Those highway miles, running the A/C, should warm things up nicely & help your Auto-Rx really deep clean that engine.

Skip the Iffy Lubes, wait till she gets home & change it yourself.

I remember Frank saying something about the cleaning agents of AutoRX are pretty much spent by 1500 miles or so. So I'd just change the oil once she returns.
