Looks like the Chevron oils are now identical to Havoline. This was not always the case.

Thanks for posting this, Trex. The Aluminum is indeed very high for a virgin oil. Virgin Havoline 5w-20 SM, posted in this forum, also has high aluminum (6ppm), but much less Si. Other additive values are similar to this Chevron 10w-30 SM.

The sulfer is a component of ZDDP and other anti-wear adds may use it; so yes, it is an anti-wear additive.

Wow, I didn't realize the 30 weights had that much moly, I know the Havoline 5w-20 came back with a ton but I thought that it was only that high with that viscosity. I've got my .59 cent 5w-30 in my basement, in my 95 Prizm it goes for the next OCI... I was thinking Pennz Platinum or 15w-40 delo, or Mobil Turbo Diesel, so hard to decide... Thank you very much Trex101 and to everyone else who contributes to the VOA forum!

Just one question comes to mind though, what does the "ISOSYN" mean that I am seeing on the Chevron Delo and Chevron Supreme bottles?
