Anyone received/tried FP 3000?

Hey I can understand that people are frustrated but here is my 2 cents.

I have been using LC20 and FP60 for about 2.5 years. I ordered shortly after joining BITOG after reading the enthusiasm about the products.

When word of FP3000 got out on BITOG the enthusiasm was palpable. There were entire threads devoted to the "If they build it we will come" willingness to commit to pre-orders in the hope that manufacturing would commence.

In October, those of us who were existing customers were given that opportunity to pre-order. This was not offered on the website as the general public probably would not be quite so sanguine about an unspecified wait for a new product.

Every day people in my community will put down $30K on a condo that it supposed to be built in 3 years and may never exist. I just don't think that its that big a deal to put $58 or whatever it was down on a product I had expressed serious interest in and is apparently going to arrive a couple of months later than expected.

YMMV

I pre ordered. Put in my $54 or so for a gallon, and did so without knowing when to expect it. I do have enough LUCL and FP60 to survive for a long while. Honestly, Im not so sure Ill permanently use FP3000 over FP60, especially if I dont find it more cost effective in my calculations.

All that said, when I get it, I get it. is my money in limbo? yes. Do I know where it is? yes. Unless LCD folds and goes bankrupt, I can be sure Ill get FP3000, and if the FP3000 project doesnt actually work out, Ill likely get FP60 for my $$$. Im sure that LCD is aware that they are sitting on my money, and are aware of how they'd feel if I was sitting on theirs. All that said, we can be reasonably sure that they are working to deliver product, not just sitting.

Anyone familiar with the chemical industry knows that a typical product delivery sale unit can often be a rail car. That is a LOT of volume, and for a small company, a LOT of cost. Buying in smaller quantity makes the cost increase significantly, to the point that it does not make economic/business sense to bring the product forth.

A #@$%! Christmastime analog is the xbox 360. For months, people paid huge amounts of money, and often put deposits if not whole purchae prices down on the barrel to get a product that is supposed to be better, but was not yet delivered. When they got it, they paid a large premium over what it will cost in 6 months. Why? the R&D costs of the companymaking the new product need to be paid, etc. In a much smaller way, our FP3000 anticipations must cross with the costs of development and sales in a manner that costs will be much more than recouped (remember, LCD isnt doing what they do out of the goodness of their hearts).

For the good of some boardmembers, perhaps LCD shouldnt have pre-announced FP3000's existance, and shoud not have offered a pre-sale. IMHO, bying into a pre-sale offering has some element of risk due to an inherently non-fixed and permanently variable delivery schedule.

For me, as I said, I anticipate it to come within the next few months. There are big things to consider in product production scale up, and it is a risk for all parities involved. Itll come when it comes. Even if I run out f additive, Ill buy more FP60, or run without additive, its not the end of the world. It will come when it comes, my only risk is that LCD goes OOB, and I hope for the sake of my FP60 and LC20 habit, let alone my desire to get my FP3000, that this is not the case.

I e-mailed LCD and told them to keep it and keep the money. I do not need their product or the money. people think I am impatient and did not understand my thoughts. LCD just made another $54 profit. figured it will be my first charitable act for 2007 . so LCD does not need to send me my order of FP 3000. to the CEO who posted earlier please make sure to put the $54 to good use.gotta love the warm and fuzzy feeling of donating. take care guys and enjoy the new year.

How does the cliche go, "cutting of your nose to spite your face"?

My issue was not that the product was late to ship. Problems were to be expected. My complaint is that we were left in the dark after the estimated production AND shipping dates had passed.

We (BITOG'ers) should not have had to start threads to ask what was going on. A simple post saying "we are having a tough time allocating product to our web sales" or "the labels are f@#ked up, we are trying to fix it. Expect a month delay." would have been sufficient.

Instead we got "should be by the end of the month" or "should be this week". I personally felt like we were being smoke-screened. What's worse is, we weren't. Just tell us what's going on. We are all fairly reasonable people. Nobody likes feeling like they are being lied to. That is all.

My order is on the FedEx truck for delivery today. Thanks.

Nice. Just got it. Definitely not as "thick" as FP60. The FP3000 is opaque and doesn't have the cloudy look of the FP60. Color is kind of orange-red. Looks like cherry Kool-aid.

Just got my two gallons also. Nice label- definitely a first-run; no barcode. Way cool.

It will be quite interesting to use this new product. I may just keep one of these bottles unopened for a future collector's item...

My FP3000 is not opaque but a translucent pink color- I'd say the color is close to the watermelon Jolly Rancher candy. I agree that it is thinner and not at all cloudy like FP60.

Way cool.

Jeff, DO NOT publicly use my name or imply I have anything to do with working for or marketing for LCD without express permission before you do.

I no longer consult for you nor do I authorize you to use my name or business name to promote or market for LCD.

I love and recommend the chemistry. PERIOD.

I don't think it was nothing Flagerant on Terry's part, he just wants to control who uses his name, w/o paying for it. No biggie, but he certainly should have a right to do that...

Terry, my apologies. All I referenced was during the time we paid for your consultation.

You did consult during the testing of FP3000 which we paid you for and that is all we were referencing.

Again, my apologies, please feel free to give me or Luke a call or email if there is any other issues.

Indeed, anyone who is not a public figure (U.S.) has a right to vigorously defend their character- not to mention that ANYONE also has a right to protect what can be considered intellectual property. I could go on but I don't think it is necessary or wise.

Just my opinion, folks. Hope I don't provoke a threadlo...

You know, it would sure be nice if we were able to see thread responses added while we are typing our own ones in hehehehehehehehehe...

The technology just ain't there yet...

Consider it a late Xmas present LOL ! the way this whole thing went down and with people giving me a hard time for voicing my opinion, because it does not match theirs leaves me to do something nice for you at LCD. will be the bigger person here and just walk away from the situation. how much easier can it get ? everybody wins in the end. wish you continued success in your business.

Now why would you say that ? what did I do that was wrong ? making a donation is usually a good thing.
