Just wondering if anyone has ever taken an Amsoil bypass filter apart? I was curious on how they were constructed. I've seen some interesting pictures at Donaldson's filter web site and their filters look a lot like windings of string or cord.
Anyone ever tear appart an Amsoil bypass filter?

NB,
The old ones were stacked discs of cotton "linters" that were held in compression with a follower plate. The new ones are two layered pleated filters, with the nanofibers on the outside and a celluose layer beneath for structural support.

yes I had some great photo's of the old ones, but they are all be gone in replacement for the new ones. You can buy a cut away of the new one just like the old one. I don't have one yet. I guess I need to add it to my list.

I have an old B90 out in the trunk of my car. Had it for years. It's on a dual remote unit.
works alot better under the hood of your car, unless it works in your trunk better.
Hey thanks, it's sold now. I traded it last year for my Frontier. I often wonder where it's at as it's was in like new condition. I wonder if they took the by-pass filter off and such.quote:
