schaghticoke NY
(skat-i-coke)

Also remember seeing Manasses, VA when we were driving through on our way to Florida a few years back. I was driving, and I had been up all day, and most of the night. I didn't read it how it is correctly pronounced. I was slightly confused and had to ask my mom about it, she correct me.

It is correctly pronounced similar to molasses, I red it more as the anatomical part of a male.

PA also has the town of 84. Here in CA, we have Manteca (Spanish for "lard"), and Zzyzx. I know in Ohio, there's Big Bottom State Park.

Another is "Schnecksville", a town name that always makes me smile.

Got anything?

Also in PA: Krumville. Not that interesting, except that as we were driving past it, my friend (who grew up near Hamburg) was checking a map...I mentioned we were about to pass the Krumville exit. When I did so, he replied, "That's a crummy little town." At that, I almost drove off the road laughing.

Around here a lot of places were named by Spanish missionaries
I live in El Paso de Robles
I used to live in Los Osos near Morro Bay
To the north is Punta Gorda
To the south is Pismo (Indian name)
Atascadero literally means "a place to get stuck" in Spanish

Edit: also, Uncertain, Texas.

You forgot Dime Box, Texas. Always a good one for winning the game of "name a town that starts with the last letter of the previous town named." ;-)

And there's Baby Head, Texas.
