I've searched the forum for results from anyone who has actually tried Motor Silk and it appears there are none. I see a lot of opinions and misinformation but nobody has responded with any actual real life user results good or bad. Has anyone actuallly tried Motor Silk and what was your result? Problems, increased MPG? Any results at all?

Well it appears that with all the comments about Motor Silk in the past nobody (except one UOA) has actualy tried it. I've heard (like others) it is used by the trucking industry and some Euro OEMs such as Fiat, Peugeot and Volvo. Surprising that nobody on this board has ever tried it.

I use this product in both my personal vehicles. At first I was very sceptical. I put it in the trans, engine and fuel system of my wifes 94 gmc jimmy. It claimed that it would take 2k miles to take effect. I noticed the diffrerence within 200miles. The engine idled smoother and I did get another 1-2 miles per gallon. This stuff is amazing~! Oh yeah, did I mention I am an ASE certified technician and run 5 auto repair centers in tigard OR.
This is the only additive I have ever had noticeable results from. The only CON is it can be pretty expensive for the treatment.

I'm happy to hear someone has tried this. I had just decided to give it try when I read your post. I'll post my results too. Did you order direct from the manf? If I recall, it cost $35 - $40 which for a treatment that is to last 100,000 miles I don't feel its very expensive if you gain an MPG increase.

Do you recommend this product to your customers? Using it yourself is one thing... Advising customers to use it another.

I have a new 2008 automobile with 3000 miles on it. I changed the oil after break-in (about 1500 Miles), and will change again at 7500 and every 7500 thereafter, using 100% synthetic as MFR recommends. I was considering adding Motor Silk at the 7500 OC. MFR does not recommend using oil additives (I realize MS is not an additive, but a one time treatment carried by the base oil), but if this works and causes no ill effects, I'm inclined to go ahead. The engine has a turbo and if this boron really does reduce friction, it seems that the turbo bearings would be helped by this.

I'm still reluctant, but have another 4500 miles to decide.

If you add it to the oil, it is an additive.

I used it, and I cannot say that I had any substantial results. Didn't break anything either, so I guess I'm not out much.

but a metal treatment additive, it does not treat the oil itself, the engine oil only carries the MS around.Plus according to law, a mfr would have to prove that what you added damaged an engine. magnason-ross act i believe is what it might be under.

yes I do recomend it to all of my customers and it generates loyal, new and return customers because 99% say they feel the difference. I sell it for $44 for the engine treatment
