Ok, I use Red Line in my manual transmission with outstanding results. But I am a it afraid of using it as my engine oil, mainly becuase it is a small company and I do not know much about them other than what one can read online. I have heard that too much additives can actually harm the engine. Any thoughts?
P.S. Any truth to these rumors of PAO wax buildup?

Not at all. Never read those rumors. Where did you hear/read this?

Redline is a POE/PAO mix.

OMcO. The capacity of your sump in the Yaris should be 3.9qts (not 2.9 as you guessed elsewhere); this is assuming it hasn't changed since 2003, when I bought my car. Just dump in 1 gallon, .1 qts extra = 3.2oz which is no big deal Stick with API approved oils for your warranty piece of mind and keep OCI to 5K miles. Redline engine oil does not carry API approvals.

Odd behavior trusting for your transmission, but not your engine, isnt it?

By the way, I have used Redline products exclusivly for engine/transmission/rear diff/steering/ fuel system and at 223,000 miles all systems are operating like new.
