What is the differences between Amsoils 5w30 oils? For instance, their series 3000 5w30 and their regular 5w30? I know that the series 3000 is for diesel, but what else? I am potentially considering switching from Amsoil's 0w30 to their 5w30, but wish to find their best 5w30. So far, people have been raving about their HDD Series 3000 5w30. What gives?

Amsoil's best 5w30 is the HDD S3K.
The man who owns the company uses this personally
in his gasoline vehicles. So I guess that's an
endorsment of sorts.

Not that the regular stuff ASL is any slouch nor is the
S2K 0w30 which I have used since it's inception back in
'97 or so.

My boat engine is a Cat and if it were not for their insistance
that I use straight wt oils the HDD would be in there.

I started using series 3K in my 2002 Tacoma V6 and so far my engine seems to like it but i havent conformed yet with a uoa but i do plan on getting one at a later date. Amsoils asl 5W30 i got alittle valve catter at startup but with the series 3K its pretty much gone away. Even at 2K miles the oil still looks brand new.

I wanted to try it in my wifee's 04 Camry which she drives 90% city driving all day. I like the 0w30 Series 2000 and have no reason to change, but I was wondering if I should run a 5w30 in the summer months?

Both are 30 weight oils and slightly faster initial flow with the o-weight. The chemical composition is somewhat more robust in the 0wx30. I would "stay the course"
