I ordered Synchromesh Manual Transmission Fluid (MTFQT) from the online store, but instead received Transaxle Gear Lube (MTGQT). The Amsoil corporate website is evasive when it comes to return policies. At this point, I am more than a little frustrated, and I have the feeling that Amsoil won't rectify this situation without a fight.

Of course, I expect Amsoil to pay for shipping on the return package, as well as to ship the correct product back to me. How can I go about doing this?

I will do that tomorrow. Speculation, yes, but not posting any return policy on your website is indicative of a problematic return policy. By that, I mean one in which the consumer must pay (in some form) for the supplier's mistake.

Never had a problem with wrong shipments here. Did have a customer once that said he had an issue. Turns out he had his issues turned around.

Who is your dealer? Is he being evasive?

Amsoil is very clear. 1-800-956-5695. If you clearly ordered MTF and your online receipt shows you ordered MTF, yet you got MTG, then your local warehouse goofed up. It happens. Amsoil won't fight. They'll send UPS to pick the MTG up and your MTF will be shipped right away.

You should have ordered through one of our site sponsors!...by clicking on their links...it takes you to the same store...one time an order was one quart short...my site sponsor got on the phone and two days later my one quart arrived...sometimes the warehouse goofs...but if you would have used a site sponsor they would have went to bat for you better than some dealer you don't even know!...but don't worry the number Pablo gave you will tell you how to straighten out this mistake...I know tons of people who run Amsoil and I have only heard of two shipping errors in the five years I have known people who run it...this is the second...Amsoil will straighten this out...Too bad you didn't use a site sponsor then you wouldn't have to lift a finger!...This is why I chose a site sponsor even though a dealer is less than eight miles away...plus our site sponsors are much more knowledgeable and understand the plight of the Bitoger better as they are one and the same!...

Two years ago one of my coworkers ordered some 140w gear lube but received the 90w lube by mistake. He called Amsoil and they had the correct oil at his door a day later with the UPS paperwork to pick up the wrong bottles for return. It was a regrettable mistake, but Amsoil made things right quickly and hassle-free. Wish more companies were like that!

It seems like shipping errors are corrected quickly without much hassle. My mind is at ease now. Good tip on ordering through a site sponsor, I will do that next time!

I called the 1-800 number today and explained my ordeal (around 1pm), and I was told that UPS would pick up my package, and they would send me the correct order. To my surprise, when I got home at 7pm, the new package was already on my doorstep!

...But they sent the same, incorrect items again.

So now I will have to call and ask them if they can send special instructions to the warehouse to pay a little more attention this time. One of the very few instances in my life where I am impressed and resentful at the same time.

Call your servicing dealer. I'm sure they would take care of it.

Amsoil will ship out the correct product, then put a "call tag" for the wrong product. Leave the wrong product on your doorstep and the UPS man will pick it up.

That's what you should have done - before starting a presumptuous-false accusation thread.

Amsoil rocks!
I initially bought it at a lawnmower/snowblower outlet for a bargain deal & trial offering. But when it comes time to re-order next year, I will use a site sponsor here.

I made assumptions based on what I saw and my own past experiences. See if you can find any information on the website about a return policy; most internet stores are very candid. Just calling it as I see it. And there were no false accusations made. Notice how I used qualifiers, such as "I have the feeling".

I am a big supporter of Amsoil products, but I hope you can understand why I am frustrated. Please re-read my most recent post above. I have my fingers crossed that the local warehouse won't ship the wrong item a third time.

The problem was resolved. The customer service representative I spoke to assured me he would personally make sure that I was shipped the correct product this time, and he kept his word. UPS picked up the two incorrect shipments and all is well.

their website does need a serious clean-up but their order fulfillment is world class. Just let them know about the mistake. I highly recommend ordering through a BITOG Sponsor (i use Pablo), as that gives you an extra edge in intepreting the less than clear web site. and costs you absolutely nothing extra.
