Amsoil Nano Tech oil Filters

I have no doubt the filters are good. As one who knows a bit about the Endurance Line that Donaldson has sold for about 5-7 years. It is a good filter.

And actually the Endurance media is an offshoot from their Duralife Division which is their hydraulic end of the Donaldson product line. So the media style has been around a bit.

Because the "high end" market for consumer oil filters is limited ( and profitable)it makes sense that Donalson expand to allowing the media to be private labelled for Amsoil. First, because Donaldson is a no-name non-starter in automotive car filters. That's not their fortay. Second, it lowers their cost of media by increasing the volume. So it allows them to make more off their Endurance product line on the heavy duty engine product offerings. So it's a win-win for them.

With Donaldson partnering with Amsoil they have increased their distrbution by several hundred thousand dealers. Amsoil is not only using thier filter technolgly for thier line of auto filters but selling all other HD truck filtes. They will be the largest distrubtion network for Donaldson HD truck filters, if not allready so.

For instance, AMSOIL Dealers today
sell more of the ELF 7349 oil filters for Dodge/
Cummins 5.9 liter diesel applications than any other
company in the world.

Mike..

So all the Freightliner, KW, Pete, Volvo/White dealers don't count?...

Filterman, I don't think Mike was adding Class A Trucks/Rigs into the equation.

Well, he did get kicked around a bit early on..just like Peter Parker.

There will always be a Jay Jonah Jameson out there.

Well..went and played golf in our 80 degree weather..

Donaldson have hundreds of truck dealers in North America which sells their product line.

As they use the "endurance" media in their endurance truck filter line...

Mike said above: "They will be the largest distribution network for Donaldson HD truck filters, if not already so"..

I think all those truck dealers are Donaldson largest for HD truck filters..but it's just one mans opinion..

100's of truck dealer = hundreds of 1,000's of Amsoil dealers. Donaldsons filters became more widely available to customer that may not have been using them before. Thats what I was getting to.

For instance, you cannot find a Donaldson filter dealers any where around here. None but now every Asmoil dealer is one, so it makes Donaldson filters available to more customers than before.

I just did a dealer search for Donaldson (not amsoil) and the only dealers close to me are in Detroit (500 miles away) or in the Green Bay area (200+ miles).

Mike..as i said..every truck dealer has access to Donaldson product. From Freightliner to Mack to Volvo. Add up all those franchises nationwide and they number in the thousands. However most automotive filter buyers won't be heading to a truck dealer for a Honda filter. But you mentioned Donaldsons endurance "truck" filter line. If you meant their heavy duty engine truck filter Endurance line, chances are the majority fleets will go to a truck dealer first before an Amsoil dealer.

There are but a few "independent" Donaldson distributors left. And there's a reason for that.

But if you think Amsoil dealers can sell tons of Endurance filters to fleets..have at it.

ps: There's also one of the major nationwide truck stops that sells and stocks Donaldson.

When i got interested in donaldson filters, did a search on the nanofiber they used and it was first developed for artifical kidneys/dialysis machines. Donaldson licenses the use of the media. In the use in their filters its blown on with the first layer being very small micron and the two outer layers being larger micron holes. Sort of a depth filtering concept. When you take one apart you can seperate the layers by hand and they do have a different look. I have been running them on my cars for the last 3 years and have been very pleased with them. I drive old mopars that have the 3/4X16 threads that I can use donaldson's version of the fl1a.

I have a 05 Nissan Sentra 1.8. Do I need a EAO12 or EAO13? Both of these filters show for a 95-04 Nissan.

I am impressed....I like the way the pleats are set up, the materials look heavy duty. On the inside of the filter, it looks like a red meshing of a solid nature...is that also the celulose material for final filteration? Nice piece. Now, the test begin for extended use....Keep us up to speed and thanks Big O Dave

Big O Dave,

Great photo! Excellent job on your recent filter analysis. I'm bookmarking that thread.

I received my EaO64's last week. I just noticed that my new "Flotool" ratchet wrench socket can't be used on these filters due to their lacking the indentations on the ends of the filters. It made installing oil filters easy.

I'm a little disappointed. Nice filters though.

Hello Dan, can you tell me what the Donaldson filters Part # are for a Big and Smallblock Mopar engines? Have you ever cut one apart, and are they constructed like the Amsoil filter?

Thanks

I got a feeling this filter is awesome. Pics shows a solid endurable filter. I think my Trasko filter is being tossed out.

Amsoil does it again. Amazing!
