I've heard good things about this oil and I'm thinking of using it in my 2005 Nissan Titan. The manual calls for 5w30 but is there any reason why I couldn't use this oil ? Would my miles per gallon decrease ? Any problem with cold pumping in the winter ? It can get down to -25 below zero here in winter at times.

ACD is a fine oil no doubt, but I am thinking it may be borderline at pumping in your coldest temperatures, unless you had the vehicle in a heated garage.

The pour point on ACD is -33, and I am told, and sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, oil is generally good to use to +20 above the pour point, in the case of ACD that would be -13.

On another note, if under warranty, is the engine looking for an oil that is rated SL OR SM?

I'm curious as to why you want to use an oil primarily formulated for a diesel engine in a gasoline engine? Especially since Amsoil has several 5w30 oils formulated for a gasoline engine.

This is why, and I've heard this oil has a great additive package. I read a bunch of good used oil analysis' on this oil. My main concern would be the cold weather starts. I believe this oil is also rated for gasoline engines.

I have it in my 01 Blazer and the g/f RAV4. no complaints at all through the winter.

the TOY is harder on oil than the Chevy b/c of type of use. Blazer sees very few "city" miles and the RAV sees about 80% city.
if you look at my other UOA's for the RAV or Blazer that I've posted none of the PCMO's from AMSoil have given me what I was looking for. 10K-12K OCI or 1yr
