TBN is down to 3.23 with about 12K on oil, how long until you feel it needs changing out and what are your comments/concerns about analysis. Thanks LCM

Looks fine to me. I'd change the oil now as the TBN is nearly exhausted, and the viscosity is rising.

It is generally difficult to extend drains past 10-12K in V8 engines given the contamination that occurs, from what I've been told.

Otherwise, it looks fine to me and the oil held its viscosity quite well.

15k should work for the TBN ..maybe more. I'm uncertain what test Oil Analysers uses for TBN

..but either test ..it's still good for a while.

You're peaked on the 30 weight level. Where does this oil start out at??

Sorry...I was pooped...tired guy.

It was the ASL Sm version of 5-20 Amsoil with the following. In the 11,000 and some change range miliage and a Eao full flow filter. Total miliage is in the 66,000 range on this engine.

Iron 24, Chrom 1, Lead 0, Copper 20, Tin 0, Alum 8,Nickel 0,Silver 0, Silicon 17, Boron 176, Sodium 0, Mag 27, Calc 3,546, Bar 0,Phos 912,Zinc1,192 Moly 87.

Vsc 100=12.45 Nitr 23, Oxid 19, Tbn 3.23

Pablo, for some reason the copy to paste did not work right and I was too tired to care. I thought the standard elements were in a row and the numbers would match...mebad.

Did you mean 5w30? Doesn't look like an Amsoil additive package.....Moly? Boron? Ca? Plus, ZDDP is too high for SM. Are you sure it's Amsoil? When is the last time you had too many drinks?

Wow...I need some food or sleep...sorry, yes 5-30. I just had a beer? No that can't be it!

Yes, Amsoil ASL SM/Cf,SL 5-30, could Analysers Inc/Staveley Services make a mistake?

I just had a thought....

What if my friend bought the XLM 5-30..I have emailed him to ask him to check the bottles.

Or

Package Mislabel?

On beer number 2 now so hurry up!

buster, I have been checking the UOA sections and it falls in line with other Amsoil adpacks?

Have not heard back from my friend, but that would be crazy if the XLM was the oil and is OK @ almost 12K

Pablo, ever here of a mislabling mistake with a batch and bottles/labels over in Superior?

He had Mobil 1 in it, but the Amsoil has been running for some time now. 1st change to Amsoil about 11,600 miles ago. He just confirmed SL/SJ/CF Amsoil 5-30. This is getting weird.

Oh thanks Gary - I missed the next post down....what about the rest....but still this UOA posting leaves....
how hard.....well enough said.....I'll keep my big mouth shut.

I just fould out he had Havoline full-synthetic in it when he switched to Amsoil. He ran the whole time with Amsoil and never needed to top off. Would a small bit...say 1/4 qt left in the engine asquew the lab results? Pardon the spelling.
