Ammo is pouring in

All of a sudden we have no shortages of ammo. I've checked three different places in three days and they are all at practically full stock. This is good news.

Last night I walked in to a chain store and saw a pack of 9mm thinking this store would be out by this morning...grabbed it quickly and found they were packing more on the shelves. Surely there would be a rush and they'd be out by tomorrow, after all there were a lot of guys buying ammo when I was. I walked in there for kicks this morning and the shelves were overflowing - they had not only replenished last night's stock but had topped it. Bulk packs AND normal 50 count packs. I went ahead and bought a bulk pack of 525 Remington Golden for $17.99 and I saw a guy putting several out as well as some smaller 50 round boxes.

Checked another one of my favorite stores to look at some guns and they too had lots of 9mm in 100 round packs and a shelf full of target range Federal .22LR. I did not buy any as I figured I had bought enough and let the rest of the guys have it.

Feels like things have gone back to normal finally.

I'm looking forward to that kind of availability again. Pre-shortage, the local SG chain would regularly run 2 x $32 deals on those and my Mark III eats them up without any problems.

Mainly hoarding and fear. The election results had something to do with it, as well as Obama's ridiculous proposals and the school shootings. And DHS.

Demand vs supply plus summer is coming when will it happen again??

More ammo is appearing on the shelves here too. Some stores are limiting you to a total of 3 boxes. 22 ammo was hard to find too but is showing up now.

Found some 9X18 on the Internet today.

I thought it was "The bigger the truck...the smaller the...", but I could be wrong...

I assume you're talking to me? lol.

I admit I am hoarding a little. But some guys come in and clear the shelves...I've seen it myself. I don't take everything and will usually leave some for the next guy (per my original post). Do I have a compulsion to buy ammo? Yes. Is it fear? Perhaps. I don't know what's around the bend and want to make sure my family is protected. Of course that's in the minds of every other sensible gun owner around. The unsensible ones are the ones who clear the shelves and resell it for profit. Those guys are total losers.

If you're looking at Wal-Mart you're looking in the wrong place. Wal-Mart is terrible about getting ammo in and when they do, everybody's already there anyways so you won't have a fighting chance no matter what you do. I haven't seen a single box of what I'm looking for there in about 4 months. I call ahead too.

Find the truck schedules of sporting goods stores and farm and fleet stores. And don't forget to check the back corners of gas stations/grocery marts. You'll find a box here or there. Looks like that might not be much of a problem anymore hopefully, I pray this is not just coincidence. I felt normal walking out of the store for once not feeling like I was in survival mode.

You talkin to me? you talkin to me????I loved that movie was way ahead of itself.

I was told by the Winchester rep for my local Fleet-Farm that the shortage was not ammo itself, they have millions of rounds in storage, but no boxes.

Tula ain't the best but you know $10.34/box is probably better than anything I could snag!
