Guys no matter how many times you change your oil or a friend's always be vigelent. Old man lives around the corner asked me if i would change his oil for him, no problem, come on by. I get my ramps out, tools, pan, etc. Here he comes pulling in the driveway, i set the ramps out, line him up, i think to myself, Troy, pull it up yourself, nah, come on up Sid. Well, as i'm guiding him up he panics and floors the acclerator, i have no where to go, the towncar plows into me and continues through my fence with me on the grill, i'm suddenly flying through the air, i land on my back and i think this is it, now here comes the car on top of me. Some how as i landed i veered enough off to the side that he went pass me still wide open engine screaming, he lets off the accelerator finally before he goes through the back fence. I still cant believe this happened, no matter how many times you do something expect the unexpected. I"m all bruised up but ok, i could easily be dead just that quick. Somehow changing oil won't be the same.

That is why we always stood off to the side when guiding cars into the bay when I used to work at a Jiffy Lube, just in case.

Yikes. Thank God you and the old man from around the corner are both OK. Lesson learned for you, him and all of us too. Glad to know you are alright, it sounds like it could have easily gone the other way.

Thank God you're OK. I always stand off to the side when directing someone up ramps. Now that you mention this I will drive all cars I work on up the ramps myself!

I wonder if stuff like this is what caused all of those unintended accelerating toyotas.

thank goodness you are ok

Holy cripes! Glad you made it out as well as you did. Sounds like someone needs to have a review of their driving priviledges.

Thanks for the words guys. When he finally got out of the car, which took a minute, first thing he asked if i was ok, then he said i hit the brakes, i don't know what happened.

No, extremely lucky. Thanks.

Recently, I dodged a bullet when changing my daughter's oil. After installing two jacks under the car, I drained the oil and crawled out from beneath the car to locate the oil filter. After taking about three steps away from the car, it slipped off the jacks and crashed to the pavement.

I had instructed the daughter to set the e-brake and put the car in park...she did neither. I learned a lesson to check things out and chock the rear wheels before commencing an oil change.

Glad your okay. That could have been a lot worse and you are a lucky man.

Funny how ramps are supposed to be safer than a jack and stands. That's why I got my ramps but anything can happen.

Whoa what crazy bad luck for that to happen in the first place and crazy good luck you walked away! At least you'll always have a story to tell.

Glad you're alright, looks like you've got some fence repair to do though.
