I was reading through the acronym thread and I noticed under M1 it said Mobil one and then in parenthesis it said all M1 oils are synthetic. I'm looking for validity on this as I just put some M1 super 5000 in one of my cars as a cheap oil for a month. I thought it is dino oil since it doesn't say synthetic anywhere on the bottle. If it is synthetic, I'm going to just leave it for 5k miles.

This may help:

Funny how Mobil Super 5000 is lowest on the Mobil oil tier but it's actually my favorite of the bunch. And it has nothing to do with the fact that I purchased 35 quarts when O'Reilly's had it for $4.99 after rebate (per 5.1 quart jug). It is a really great dino oil.

And, it's one of the cheaper ones. In my area it sells for at least a buck less per quart than Pennzoil, Valvoline or Castrol.

What about the oil makes it your favorite?

I really liked PEAK Oil when I used it. And after reading the PQIA testing results, I felt very comfortable using it. It seemed to make the engines quiet and smooth for the money.

I was pleased with results on the Mobil 5000 too. It's cheap, ran quiet, stayed clean very long. My niece ran it a year in her car that I did the change on and still looked pretty new coming out. I don't know how many miles were on it during that year though.

Well it's relatively inexpensive, my engine runs smoother and quieter with it than with most other dino oils, and it's pretty good at cleaning. My old Acura engine really likes it. I ran Mobil 1 in my Honda but it didn't run as smooth as with Pennzoil Ultra. The current fill of Peak synthetic isn't bad either.
