Air Filter for a Toyota

I went to Pepboys a couple of days ago and was going to pick up an air filter for my mother's 2000 Corolla, but they wanted $18 for one. This seemed a little pricy, so I decided to hold off and look around. What should something like that go for?

Perhaps this is a unique shaped filter which may account for the cost but I have had good luck at the dealer if they have a coupon or special. Also, Metro Toyota in MI ships wholesale genuine Toyota parts and give them a call or check out their web site.

.........That sounds a little high. What brand was Pepboys selling you? I bought a replacement Fram air filter for our 2001 Corolla at Walmart for about the same money. Canadian dollars too!!
