I lurk here from time to time but don't think I've posted since 2010 or '09.

Anyway, it's time to report in.

Our '03 CRV now has about 156k, and has been running on Redline 5w20 since 20k. In all that time, I've not had to add a single drop of makeup oil. It runs like it's brand new and gets about 26 mpg in town, 30 on the freeway. Looking in during a valve adjustment which didn't require much adjustment, it was perfectly clean.

Some other oil might have done just as well, but at this point, unless the cost becomes prohibitive, I see no reason to bother switching.

Redline is top notch, regardless of what some believe on this forum.

I love redline products. If they were even close to being affordable for me I'd use them exclusively.
But I can buy a jug of pp on rollback for 2 bucks more than a quart of redline costs here.
I've got 8 quarts of their 5w30 and 5w-40,and I'm saving them for use in my 4v. I want to try out a few oils in it first before I put redline in.
Thanks for posting. Its nice to see a post that isn't trying to rip them apart. Its like royal purple and redline get eat on in here often, however their oils are the best money can buy. In respect to RP,the API line isn't any better than any other API oil, however if its got the synerlac badging its as good as the best out there.

Agreed that RL is top quality.

May disagree about cost effectiveness as many folks with the exact same engine as the OP get outrageously long life out of conventional oils.

But I love choices...
