Filter looks like it held up well. 9 years is a long time though even if low mileage. Oil looks like it has a lot of moisture content of sitting long periods.

Appreciate the C&P and great quality photos.

I suppose I am the outliner as I think that filter, even though it did the job, is not a well constructed filter especially for the price point. I mean if you want fiber end caps get a Fram EG or TG and atleast you will have a silicone ADV and a metal center vs the e-core. The endcaps, nitrile rubber ADV and e-core are all no's in my opinion. Much better filters available at the same price and less - even a Supertech is better.

i agree with everything other than the E-core. E-cores are better than louvers. but i refuse to use fiber end caps or nitrile adbv

I know you are right about e-core - it has proven itself over the years, it's just me - I can't accept it and I have no data to prove why :ROFLMAO:

Yes, w/C4 Corvette Dana 44 irs, RideTech air ride all 4 corners, pwr 4 wheel disc brakes, mustangII pwr rack&pinion, pwr windows, heated seats, and I'm about to install a VintageAir ac/heat system.
make sure you run the AC request through the LS computer. you will thank me later.

Why does a nitrile ADV matter with the filter orientation on an LS?
Because like any oil filter mounted like on an LS (low on the engine with base up), it keeps the oil galleries above the filter from draining down to the level of the filter. You want all of the oiling system to stay full of oil, and that includes the galleries above the filter.

The PF63 no longer has fiber end caps - you know, that actually engage with the spring. The material is not nitrile - it’s AEM and it does hold the U tube in balance. You have to replace a quart of oil if changing a filter on my Tahoe’s …
