Is anyone aware of a commercially available synthetic 75w85 GL5? This is the oil spec'd for the diffential in my Lexus (aka Toyota).

If not, does anyone have any idea if Lexus/Toyota dealers make the standard 75/85 available to customers?

Use Mobil 1 75w90, and pretend that the stuff that you use will be on the low end of the '90' tolerance, and that it's a bit warmer than assumed by the engineers who spec'd your OEM oil, which was on the high end of the '85' tolerance in your vehicle.

"I have heard that there are better gear oils than Mobil 1"

There's always a better gear oil, it's just a matter of availability and cost. Around here Mobil 1 gear oil seems to be the best readily available oil at a reasonable, like $8 or $9 a qt at Schucks. It seems to be a better oil than the offerings from other major companies and the house brands. From what I've heard on discussions of Redline for longer change intervals I prefer Mobil 1.

What year and model Lexus?

If we were talking manual transmission I would be a bit more worried about the 100°C viscosity. However since it's a diff I tend to agree with 1sttruck on the synthetic 85 vs. 90.

I thought Toyota specified 85W90? Anyway, I have heard that there are better gear oils than Mobil 1, no proof though. I put Redline 75W90 in my Tundra diffy with no problem. I have heard Amsoil is very good too. I have heard some say the dino with the additive works better for limited slip differentials, but for all other cases a 75W90 works fine.

you can buy the correct toyota bottled fluid from a good lexus dealer. a 75/90 gear lube maybe suitable also. mobil 1 75/90 is readily available and should work fine.
