M1 5W50 is the biggest selling syn in Australia by a huge margin. I have the 15W50 version for summer use.

I have used REPSOL ELITE FASTER 5W-50 on FORD SIERRA CVH engine and AUDI 2.0E (ABK) engine. It is a really good oil.
At the moment I am using MOBIL1 RALLY FORMULA 5W-50 on AUDI 2.0E engine and it is a great product too.

Anyway, the engine generates more heat when using 5W-50, since these engines are designed for xW-40 viscosity. 5W-50 is good for tuned engines
