2025 Kia K4

Bought a new Kia K4 EX with the 2.0 motor. Looking to see if anyone has used 5w30 in place of 0w20? I had a Soul with the 1.6 I used 5w30 in with really good results.
It is interesting that an engine that can run a 0-20 oil at say 0C, should be able to run an oil that is much thicker than a 30, or 40 viscosity at 100C.

Oil aside, the new Kia design language is very strange.
No doubt. Says higher viscosity in hotter temps yet reverts back to that piss water 0w20 that could not keep film strength on a bicycle chain. 5w30 should be the minimum viscosity used. Probably could get away with a 40 or 50 viscosity in summer months for sure.

My 2021 Kia K5 has a 1.6 turbo engine. It is speced for 0W20. I run 5W20 in the winter and 5W30 in the summer. I surpassed 100,000 km six months ago. I used the same routine on my 2010 Kia Optima. It ran like clockwork when I sold it to get the K5

The Asian's took back the body designs for Hyundai and Kia from the Germans, I won't be buying the Asian designs because of it.
