This is standard for the NEC. A branch circuit should only use 80% of the capacity of the breaker.

80% of the circuit's rated capacity is NEC for the 100% duty cycle you get when charging an EV. You can have 60A for a short duration but only 48A perpetually.

I understand. I was simply correcting a text error I made in a prior post.
 
The early Lightnings did offer dual onboard chargers, you could do 80A with those. Now it's a fleet only option. I guess the uptake was not very high.
 
That’s pretty good efficiency for the Lightning!
Yeah, my lifetime since new is 2.1. But then I live in Central Texas and we drive fast here. It's pretty common that I hit, uh well extremely extralegal speeds, on the toll road just moving along with other traffic in the left lane and the speed limit is 75.
