From what I have understood along the way, this would be a separate model and not a replacement for the CX5.

The scuttlebutt says the CX50 will have the 3.0L SkyActiv X inline six engine along with mild hybrid or hybrid options. Also, Lexus is interested in this engine as well.

I wonder if this will be built at MTMUS?

$50K for a car? I was just at the VW dealer getting a state inspection done on my Golf All Track and wandered through the show room. They had a very nice new Passat sedan sitting in there for $29,000. Jettas are less than that.

This will be a bit bigger.

Where does it say $50k?
"50k?" was not me saying it will be 50k Its me asking if it will be 50k.
They are trying to move upscale. The mazda cx-30 breaks 40k now.

If you could get one of these fairly loaded for under 40k.. I think they would sell like hotcakes.

Mazda is a niche company not a mainstream player. Affordable and Mazda are not usually in same sentence.
News to me. My Mazda6 rolled off the lot for less than I could find a Toyota dealer willing to sell a Camry for.

And the quality has been +++++

A Mazda CMW would be pretty sweet. I just hope they dont price it too high. The Tesla Y is rather compelling for the $50k price range. The CMW should be $35-45k to make sense.
