2016 GLE 350 4 Matic`
3.6 V6 DOHC 24v
69000 miles

"Moderate Damage" due to wreck, clean title (which means at least there was a component replaced, more or less)

Is there anyone out there who has some real world experience with this series of vehicle. I have no experience with MB.

Test drove, rides nice, everything worked, rode really nice. Fluids looked nice, "no" rust of any consequence.

@Astro14
or any others?

No experience but there is a difference between "Clean Title" & "Prior Salvage". If it has wreck damage with non branded original "Clean Title" then it was not reported anywhere as it happened. Best thing to know is if there are any competent mechanics in your area that have worked on these but some of those may be "Euro Mechanics" that also charge an arm & leg. Good luck!

Yeah, not much to choose from around here with the Euro Mechanics.

I did talk them into putting it up on a lift for me to see the underside. Clean, but not too clean. I saw nothing that stood out as damage, but I am no expert.

I am really more after reveiws on the vehicle itself.

Thanks for your input.

Reluctor wheel likes to spin on the camshaft, engine mounts, cam sensors leak oil and contaminate the ME unit, requiring a new harness and ME. Those are the major 276 issues that I am aware of.

Thanks. Not sure what all that means, but sound like a PITA. Pass on it?

Its got 69000 miles so its got 31000 before it completely lays down and dies.
False, but still funny to see that myth flying around and hate on Euro cars; you can really tell who's actually owned one :rolleyes:

OP, given that it's an 8+ year old car that has been previously wrecked, I would continue looking. If the price is "too good to be true" then there must be reasons. As an owner of many previous MBs, I can confirm there's nothing more expensive than a cheap MB. It's not the mileage that's an issue, it's the age and condition of things where it counts that you can't see.

My advice is pass on this one.

The 3.5 V6’s are solid. The timing covers like to leak on them. Otherwise it’s just routine maintenance. Source: I work at a euro shop.
