My brother bought this truck about 5 years ago at 70k miles, now it’s at 100k miles.

This weekend I be home and will help my brother doing some tune up.

Which gear oil for the rear and do I need LSD addictive , I will be using Valvoline gear oil from Walmart in a bag.

What transmission fluid

And checking all fluid. Filter. Coolant .

My brothers live 8 hours from me so I will try do much for him.

Which transmission is in the truck? Redline oil lists about 5 different transmissions.

I don't think those trucks had a limited slip available, just a mechanical locker. As long as it doesn't have the limited slip, you won't need additive.

No Nissan manual ever said any of these had limited slip - open or e-locker only. Having said that one member here said they had something different - so I leave that to you. A assume since its 2wd its just the Nissan C200K. I have been using Valvoline in mine for years, but given the big testing thread I probably switch to something else next time - M1 or Amsoil Sever Gear or Shell if you can find it.

I have always used Matic S in my Nissan transmissions. Others use Maxlife and say its fine. To each his own.

I would take a turkey baster to the PS reservoir and refill while your at it.

Its likely time for a Coolant change as well. Something without 2EHA. Factory fluid is a Asian blue.

Best of luck.

2013 fronty here.

val maxlife - atf
replace pcv, very important
replace axle breather plug, if used for offroading or high water
75-90 - gear oil, I used supertech syn
camshaft and crankshaft sensors are common - done mine twice
coolant - used the asain from walmart
oil - supertech 5w30 and fram ultra filter every 5k
use turkey baster to remove/replace 2 baster pumps each oil change - use same fluid as transmission - val maxlife

140k on my 2013 and still runs like a singer sewing machine..

Rear axle is 75W-90 GL-5. It doesn't require any LSD additive since it's an open differential. The vehicles use wheel speed sensors and selective braking to control wheel spin. There is a drain plug and a fill plug so get a new drain plug gasket if you can. Removal of the differential cover is not required or suggested.

Automatic transmission uses Nissan Matic-S fluid. You can search for a cross reference but Matic-S is cheap enough to just buy and use it.

Coolant is Asian blue. Get the Zerex stuff or any other brand that specifies Asian vehicle applications.
