This sample was taken at the 100 hour point, with 51 hours on the oil. Filter is a Wix 51039. I think the fuel dilution is normal for this kind of application. Indmar specs 15w-40 CI-4,SL.

The engine is based on the GM 5.7 liter Vortec long block. 340hp driving through a 1:1 transmission and v-drive. Boat is a 2007 Supra Sunsport 22V. It is used for wakeboarding - a lot of 2000-2700 rpm running. The kids only go at 11-12 mph, so the boat is lugging at 2K rpm.

The interesting point with this engine is it has dual catalytic converters like a car - a sign of the future for marine engines.

GEOFF: Everything looks good in the first sample from this engine. It's still fairly new at 100 total hours, so
we were a little surprised to see wear read as low as it does. We normally see higher wear in this situation
due to linger break-in at the parts, though it looks like that has passed. We did find some silicon and this is
likely leftover sealer material from when the engine was assembled. Fuel at this level isn't a problem for a
marine engine and hopefully it will improve next sample. The TBN was still strong at 4.0, so this oil has a lot
of active additive left. 1.0 is low.
