Overheating only when sitting still idling is almost always a problem with the fan.

Brand new OEM battery last fall and new alternator in December

Thanks. Yeah, im not great with mechanical stuff..lucily have a good indy who is fair. Got stuck a distance from home and had my kid with me so no time to tinker or research but appreciate your and the advice of others!

May want to start taking it to Krown rustproofing. If it stops the rust or slows it down a ton it will be worth it. Now would be the time before it's too late.
