While I don't agree with it if the rest of the car is still good and someone could use it...here in Ontario Canada there are lots of cars driving around that aren't even safe for the road anymore because of structural rust. You wouldn't want your kids driving around in them.
Selling for parts is another option if the engine was any good, but if nobody wants to buy the vehicle or parts I'm all up for a little torture test until the engine blows.
