I put the excess snow blower fuel [2 stroke mix] in the cars after winter, and they always seem to run better. Not that I expect them to - just a good way to get rid of the fuel before it sours.
OK, I just put the remains of an opened 2 stroke oil can, in my ZX2, and the idle improved again. No doubt.
I am not selling anything, but you guys may want to fool around with a little 2 stroke oil in your gas powered car.
BTW - Go White Sox!

RX7 guys love doing this as well. It lowers the octane a bit, but you can adjust for that. I use 2 stroke mix to fill the carb back up on my Mopar as it is what I have laying around easy. Never saw a problem even with a near 100% mixture for the first 10 seconds or so. Never thought about doing this on a regular car, might have to give it a try...........

The 2 cycle oil acts as a top cylinder lube. It also burns quicker (lower octain) and hotter than gas. DaveJ

an old timer on the IFSJ forum praises outboard oil for its top cylinder lubricity and keeping his 77 Wagoneer humming. IIrc he only uses about 4oz in a 20gallon tank.

There is another post going about 2 cycle oil and the additive polyisobutylene. I have used a mix of acetone and 2 cycle oil for years and got real good power increases. Reading about polyisobutylene I am starting to understand why. DaveJ

I use Lucus UCL and get the same results-appox 2mpg overall increase in 98 Suzuki Swift. EPA when new 39-43, it has averaged 43.3 overall for the last 2 1/2years-80thou++miles -low ave 41+winter/high ave 45mpg summer with numerous long runs of 48mpg(best prior mpg was 46). UCL is basically a 2cyl oil. I use 2oz every 6 to 8gal fillup.(for the first 37thou I never used it and the overall average was 41mpg. The car today has 118++thou on it)

A little tiny bit of a good 2-stroke oil will not kill the cat (think about cat flame off temps and the super high dilution rate) nor will it harm the O2 sensor(s).

I have sold a fair bit of 100:1 Saber Pro oil to folks making their own octane/acetone cocktails for passenger cars and trucks. Mind you these are NOT people with 2006 cars.

It does work by adding some missing lubricity to today's lousy gas.

Welp, I just added some 2-cycle oil to my vehicle's tank, so I'll see if the benefits will reap shortly. I used 5-6 ounces per 15 gallons (about a 500:1 ratio).

I have noticed the lack of mileage from today's crappy gas, and am hoping that this will help that out. Will keep everybody informed about any mileage differences that I incur. Last mileage was 20 mpg (without anything added and a combination of city/highway driving).

Hey Pablo-- what have the SabrePro and acetone folks acheived with the mix?? What ratio oil& acetone to gas are they using? Please don't leave us hanging!!

Here's the update: 2004 Honda CR-V 2.4L i-VTEC inline 4.

Mileage without Maxima Super M 2-cycle oil added - 20 mpg
Mileage with 5-6 ounces added - 19.25

Bear in mind that the last tank had more city driving and idling on it than the tank without, so even though the numbers look lower, it actually improved slightly for me based on previous trends in mileage due to driving habits.

I added about 10-12 ounces total in the mix for the next tank, building up to the recommended to me 3 ounces per gallon ratio.

Will keep posted on subsequent tanks and mileage.

I'm talking a couple oz per 15 gallon tank kind of thing or maybe like Darth V is saying 500:1 or something.

I don't recommend any ratios per se and yes 3 oz gallon is too much, IMHO.

As for acetone gains see the other posts - but most are still in the experimental stage. Some people were worried about the lack of lubricity with acetone and add the same amount of acetone and 2 stroke oil (light doses)

I use the oil (2 oz) with xylene (16-32 oz) and IPA (isopropanol) (12 oz) in my turbo boost. I don't have my cheal source of IPA anymore so I'll drop that from my formula.

3oz/gallon sounds like a lot. I think I would run it closer to the MMO dose rate of 4oz/10 gallons. Also, wouldn't a TCW-3 oil be better than an air cooled 2-cycle oil?

I've a bunch of Pennsoil semi syn TCW-3 that I may try out.

Latest update on mileage with 10-12 ounces in the tank:

20.9 MPG

This was more of the normal driving habits, but still mostly city and not so much idling. The big question is whether or not this little gain is worth the actual cost of the lubricant to add to the tank, particularly with gasoline easing off in price liek it has been.

Lube $20.32 per half gallon (included the tax). Ounce per gallon ratio equals 15 ounce per tank in my instance, so approximately it costs $5.10 per tank of the lubricant to add on to the price of a fill up. At maybe a 2 to 3 mpg gain, and a total cost of $39 a fill after vs. $33.90 before, and at a rate of 300 miles per week on average, the net gain of miles per tank would be about 45 miles (not quite an extra day). Net gains really don't add up to making this a viable solution for the cost.

At least it was fun though.

It seems like a top quality synthetic might be beneficial.

A gallon of Mobil1 Racing2T would only be about 28$

At 1oz/5gallons it might work pretty good.
