PQ Index Tell me what you think. 5W30 factory fill.

No tbn so can't say for sure. It looks like this oil is spent. The viscosity is over a 30wt and is now a 40 wt due to thinking from oxidation. I would pull the oci back.

Is this a DI? If it is great looking fuel #'s. This wear is what you would expect from most brand new engines. Wait a few more and do another UOA. I would cut back a little too, maybe 7500mi. What does the factory recommend?

Volk06 what is tbn?
chubbs1, Yes it is DI, I don't know the specific OCI, I went
by OC Indicator on the IP.

Thanks to both of you for your feedback.

Tbn = total base number. Basically the amount of additive left in the oil. You usually have to pay extra for this when you get the analysis done. Very useful on a UOA to help determine the life of the oil.

Hi,rbarrios, I went with PZ Platinum 5w30 w ACDelco filter, bought at WM got the $10.00 Shell Card.

Hopefully that Walmart AC Delco number didn't end with an "E". If so, don't buy that filter again. It's an ECore, cheapest of the cheap, failure prone filters.

Phew..

I personally wouldn't run a FF to almost 10k miles. But the truth is 99% of people do.

That oil looks spent if it truly was a 30wt.

Ahh ok...
couple weeks ago- I walked thru the oil aisle at WM.
On the floor was a paper- on pennzoil--- with an elastic band.
I picked it up and twirled it. Once I had a chance turns out it was the $5 INSTANT rebate on Pennzoil.
Yesterday I went to WM and used that sucker for a 5 qt jug of Penn Plat. $19.80 (not including tax). Im thinking of getting another jug- and doing the $10 shell card- but the Pennzoil website-- when I enter my zip- says no location near me...
Ohhh- and also bought 7 PF63's online for my future use on the 3.6 NOX.

Ed, the AC filter came from a dealer. What does FF mean?
What is the difference between PZ Platinum and Ultra?

FF = First Fill.
Pennzoil Platinum vs Ultra they are about the same. Ultra a little bit thicker pet weight and is supposed to clean a little more. I run them both. In my Dodge Challenger I have less engine nose with Ultra.
