1999 Toyota Camry driver's side brake line repair cost?

This is one of those jobs that's expensive to farm out but a bargain to DIY.

What the mechanic is hedging his bets against, is other rusty complications. The clips that hold the brake lines to the undercarriage are held up by these skinny little studs that also rust out and snap. And if the rear caliper/ cylinder can't be bled due to a siezed rusty bleeder, that will need attention. And if the drum won't come off...

I've gotten around four camrys like this, the most expensive was $750. You're in for a hard time bargaining sellers an hour-plus away as well as getting truthful statements of condition. Not because the seller's dishonest they may just not be fully aware of everything you'd be looking for. Are there really no comparable beaters in Chicago proper?
