Bought a spare pickup to have around for periodic needs. I've done a lot of searching, haven't found much about the 460. What's your thoughts? It has 131k miles, seems to be in decent condition. Was thinking of running HM Maxlife 10w30... thoughts? Would it be worth it to put something like Amsoil HDEO 15w40?

maxlife would be excellent. or pennzoil HM. My uncle has and old ford with a 460 in it. he has almost 400k miles on it. he used PYB 10w40 in it its whole life. he said he bought it with 120k on it. it still runs pretty good. terrible on gas though.
Those oil the crank last. Don't want or need thick oil in them. 10w30 is fine.

That 460 is one tough dude. A real torque monster. I'd use a 10/30 or 15w40 HDEO.
