1976 Toshiba Blackstripe C355C Color TV

Here's one of my favorite vintage small TV sets.
Managed to grab this FREE off someone getting rid of it on craigslist.
I called 2 times, no answer. Called a 3rd time and got a hold of the person.
They said they were going to throw it away for recycling or give it to Goodwill,
but then listed it on craigslist to see if someone wanted it.
Anyways, I went to go see it and to my amazement, the thing is near mint !
It looks like it was hardly used ! The picture on it is still great too !
It was manufactured in Japan May 1976.

Love old TVs... and the picture control knobs. I remember playing with v-hold and whatnot.

Also loved tuning up to UHF channel 69 fine tune and getting some sort of UHF radio signals in the background.

900 MHz cell phones gobbled up 69-83 and are gobbling more and more TV spectrum every few years.

Until the late 80s there were still some broadcast TV translator stations (low power) on Ch 70-83.

Very nice set and it does look like it was bought and never used. Weird. Perhaps a gift that wasn't wanted?

Most of these small sets were used in spare bedrooms and not used very much.

I still have an old little one of some sort hanging around. I'm guessing your finds are thanks to the elimination of analog signals up here.

Love seeing these old Made in Japan TV's. Like what Marty said in BTTF: The best stuff is made in Japan.

Would like to see a couple of old American Made in USA brands such as RCA and longtime defunct brands.
