I recently started working at a Funeral Home in my local town. Just a few hours a week doing set up and tear down for visitations etc. In their garage they have this 1930 Meteor Invalid Coach that is still used on occasion for the business. She is a beauty! I'll try to get more pics of it the next time she comes outside.

My spiritual gift sometimes seems to be misinterpreting headlines (and thread titles).

I interpreted the title to mean something like "The Melfort Meteors, apparent winners of the 1930 Lord Brumbyhampton Cup, were denied the title after league officials determined that their coach, Hubert McGee, was not eligible to coach in the (now-defunct) Northwestern Saskatchewan Hockey League, due to an on-ice infraction in 1898".

Seriously, beautiful car! I'd never heard of the Meteor Motor Car Company. I wonder whether they were primarily a coach builder which bought drivetrains from one of the big boys.

Thanks for posting!

Really? You leave us like that?

How many miles? Oil used? OCI? Tire brand and date code (and where to get replacement)?

Beautiful vehicle. The look of things stored and hanging above it is a bit cringe worthy. I know I would knock something that would fall on it and snowball into how and where to fix it.

I would very much enjoy a deep dive into ALL the design specifics of every single section and part of the entire drive train of that vehicle. And after that would also enjoy a detailed explanation of the brake system, suspension, stearing, and everything else about it.

To start with, was it originally a 6 Volt system? And if so, is it still 6 Volt or has it been changed to 12 Volt.

Besides all the above, what accessories does it have. Does it have cabin heat? And anything else?

Its a giant engineering time warp that begs for understanding.

Ever stand next to the 1934 Cord (big one)?
In San Diego's Balboa Park (home to a dozen 'museums') I saw a separate drivetrain on display.
It was immense.
I had to look that car up and that car, especially the convertible, is top notch on design of the era. That car is sweet! But I've not seen any primitive drivetrain except for like 70's and 80's eco boxes. 😂

I tried to find technical details by using chat gpt but it only showed general info for that time. Likley 6 Volt electrical system and likley mechanical brakes.

Back in the day an Uncle of mine ( before I was born ) when he was a young man, had just finished adjusting the mechanical brake system of his car. Shortly after that while he was going down a local hill, some kid ran out in front of his car and he locked up all 4 wheels and stopped in time before hitting that kid. About 50 years ago, I rember a relative talking about that and commenting that it was exceptional to get all 4 wheels to be able to brake evenly on those old mechanical brake systems.
