Kinda sad Snap On wasn't listed, I guess they would have been priced out of the competition anyway. But it was labeled the "ultimate screwdriver showdown" and not the "value screwdriver showdown".

I know it's a trucking magazine, but it was kinda odd the some of the sets weren't designed for the automotive market, still reviewed, then downgraded accordingly. For example the Milwaukee's had electrician specific ECX tips, wire strippers, not magnetized... perfect for an electrician... surprisingly not for truckin'. Also, I wonder why they are so captivated by magnetic tips, like that's universally desirable (it's not) and not easily changeable (it is).

The Wera drivers caught may attention with their quote,

"it was the only Phillips screwdriver to receive an A++ rating in our stripped screw test. Using lasertips that “bite” into the screw head instead of trying to back out, the Phillips’ drivers are top-notch."

As noted a limit of $40 was placed on the sets.

Magnetic tips are a big PLUS for me.

It's nice to now of the Milwaukee's set electrical features.

They make some great tools, well worth the money IMO.

I have one of the lasertip Wera philips screwdrivers. It is an awesome tool. It has an honored spot on the pegboard.

That set looks great. I keep wanting to buy some, but with about 40 Craftsman screwdrivers in my toolbox, I can't really justify it. Maybe for a set for my car's trunk box, though.

I agree completely on the Wera drivers.. I just bought the set listed in the test. The test implied that only the phillips tip drivers have the lasertip. All the drivers in my set have the lasertip except for the smallest flat blade. I just tried them out repairing a wooden ramp put together with phillips screws. Just amazing. My biggest gripe(phillips screwdrivers slipping)has finally been addressed.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting. Most of my SD's are 25+ yr old Craftsmans, but my favorite by far are a set made by Wiha. Very comfortable and well made. I also have a set of their minature SD's and they really hold up well.
