I'm running out the door right now to get it.

One use for 0w16 in a high mileage engine is to mix with engine flush … run it a short time … drain and put some substantial oil back in

Any pictures?

I like how Wolf's Head has a 0w16 before Castrol/XOM/SOPUS/Valvoline and even the boutiques Redline/Amsoil/RP/etc

Toyota recommends 0W16 in their 2018 model year Camry and hybrids.

So since Toyota has built such good products are they trying to engineer some obsolescence back into the newer models. Its made me wonder enough to think about the day I replace my Corolla that its likely not going to be a Toyota!

just looked on enginelabs to confirm the lubricant used in NHRA Pro Stockers today 0w2!!!! less friction for more go. of course thats a 1/4 mile at a time + the technology used to get 1500 naturally aspirated HP out of 500 cu in is staggering $$$$$$$$

Wolf's Head is made by Amalie which is not exactly a small company and can run with the big boys.

Yup, 12 HP more. Might make the difference in top level pro-stock. But the carnage rate is phenomenal.

The hobby builders and weekend racers are staying away because some of them have to drive the car home after the race ...

0W16 has been available in Oz for ages...

Penrite's 0W20 rce oil had the HTHS of a 16 grade, and over a year ago they brought out a 0W16.

I think that may not be a long lived test!

Penrite in Australia has had a few 0W-16 oils for a while now.
(Penrite Enviro 0W-16 link)

Just to show it's not all 20W50 here, and as some have suggested before - the reason we don't often spec 0w-20 in Oz is because we can't get it. Which is not correct.

I thought about that, but diesel or kerosene would be far cheaper. I’ll try to go back and get a photo tomorrow.

I have a belief that the engineers who say this oil is OK in the motors they have designed know more than the shade tree mechanics on BITOG.

Yes, the engineers concerned know more than any of us in Bitog its intended application parameters.
Do we know the parameters in question ? You bet.
There is a reason vehicle purchasers populace ,media included, has no access to OEM engineers in matters related to engineering issues.
