08 grand cheeroke ?

My wife's 2008 AWD jeep needs the transfer case flushed out. There is some sort of round (maybe a balancer) type apparatus right over the drain plug going into the side. Any jeep guys know what the heck this is? Its the auto track 1 basic awd they offer. It takes ATF I belive.

P.S. how do you remove it?

Me thinks you need to find out what oil is recomended. I would get an owners manual or visit a Jeep dealer and talk to them.

Auto-track? You mean quadra-trac I right?

It takes ATF+4 about 1.5 qts.

No idea about the balancer


Ensure its quadra-trac I not II. II takes a dealer specific fluid.

Thats a harmonic vibration dampener and it has to be removed in order to acces the fill plug. 4 bolts hold it on if I remember correctly back when I changed my 06 fluids. ATF+4 by the way.
